Bilkent University

Bilkent University is recognized and ranked worldwide as the premier institution of higher education in Turkey. Bilkent University - the first private, nonprofit university in Turkey - was founded on October 20, 1984, by Professor İhsan Doğramacı, M.D., with the fundamental aim of creating a center of excellence in higher education and research. The name "Bilkent" exemplifies this aim since it is an acronym of "bilim kenti": Turkish for "city of learning and science." Located in the country's capital city Ankara, a vibrant metropolis of 5 million, the university serves a hub of academic, social, and cultural activity.

Bilkent University was founded in 1984 as Turkey's first private, non-profit institution of higher education. With world-renowned scholars among its faculty and top-notch facilities throughout its campus, Bilkent attracts many of Turkey's brightest high school graduates. The university hosts nearly 12,000 students pursuing degrees in 29 undergraduate and 59 graduate programs.

Bilkent University prides itself on its truly international perspective. Education

The university provides an interdisciplinary education across its three faculties with eleven undergraduate programs. At SU, students have the chance to choose their majors after their first or second academic year. This allows students to decide what program to study at university with greater understanding about higher education and about their own academic and career interests and talents.

Research

Sabanci University positions itself to be one of the most innovative and research-oriented universities in Turkey. As part of its philosophy, the university aims to direct its research efforts primarily towards applied and strategic research with the objectives of advancing knowledge, supporting teaching and contributing to the progress of the community. The university boasts a large number of laboratories and research centres, including the most advanced Nanotechnology Research and Application Center in the region. SU also has the highest research income per faculty member among all Turkish universities.

Every SU undergraduate student has to do a mandatory internship before graduation. The Career Development and Internship Office of SU, which provides career counselling to students, also brings in a lot of job and internship opportunities worldwide for SU students and holds on-campus recruitment events with well-known companies.

Founded on 7 July 2009 by the Turkey Education, Health and Research Foundation, Istanbul Medipol University (IMU) has rapidly evolved into a leading private foundation university based in Istanbul, Türkiye. Central to IMU’s identity is its Medipol Mega University Hospital—an 810‑bed Academic Medical Center accredited by Joint Commission International and equipped with the latest technology, including robotic surgery, High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound, and a heliport. The university supports over 17 research centers, numerous advanced labs, and ambitions for a 5,000 m² Regenerative & Restorative Medicine Research Center medipol.edu.tr.
